The Physical Education courses at Braemar are designed to promote lifestyles that lead to health and wellness for both mother and child. The focus of these courses being the development of basic game skills to successful participate in sport, an understanding of the advantages of proper nutrition and daily physical activity and a commitment to active participation for life. Your courses will be scheduled around your pregnancy due date. We also have a full-equipped fitness centre that we use as part of our program to help you get back in shape after your baby is born.
Physical Education 10
Physical Education 10 is offered as a 3-credit course where students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to lead an active healthy lifestyle.
Physical Education 20/30
Physical Education 20/30 is offered as a 3-credit course where students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to lead an active healthy lifestyle. Students in this course will be expected to assume a leadership role in this class as it is an advanced class. Only students with the most positive attitudes will therefore be accepted.
Yoga is offered as a 3 credit course. It is designed to introduce basic postures, breathing techniques and relaxation methods of yoga. Yoga is practiced and explored as an art, science and philsophy, and not as a religion.
